Make-up review: Burberry Eye Definer in Golden Brown

Hello everybody!
I am so sorry I haven't blogged in a while I have been very busy with school work but today I finished early and used it as an excuse to blog so here it is!

Recently I bought some stuff from Burberry including this eyeliner and I wanted to blog about THIS product straight away as it is gorgeous! The colour is.......golden brown (no way!) and I first saw this in a video that Burberry had made using two models, one of them being Cara Delavigne, and they used this colour on her lower lash line and I knew that I needed it in my collection as it is absolutely beautiful. It is great for a natural smokey, to give definition and it is super pigmented.

The lasting power is quite good as obviously it is a pencil and not a liquid liner. There are so many ways of using this eyeliner, simple line, cat-eye, water line, lash lines etc. It is a brown chestnut colour with gold fleck in it. The packaging is also amazing and it is luxurious as most Burberry products. The eye-liner itself is also super long and has around 20% more liner than usual eye-liners!

What eyeliners are you sporting these days?

Make-up review: Soap and Glory Smoulder Kohl

Hi guys!
So today I will be doing a review about a product that I have been throughly enjoying this month called..... Smoulder Kohl by Soap and Glory.
So as you can see I have five colours of this type of eye-liner even though I got them in a pack. To buy them individually they also come with a sharpener and they provide you with only two colours- brown and black. These cost £5 which I found not too bad since they are amazing!
(from top to bottom: superblack, cocoa bean, grapevine, blue my mind, aquabat)

These kohl are so pigmented it is unbelievable! You get a straight intense colour when you apply it on the eyes and they are so smooth and silky it glides on the eye and doesn't pull the eye at all. (when an eyeliner pulls the eye is obviously not a good eye-liner) These are very durable and they don't tend to fade during the eye. You can get a precise line with these but they are not the greatest for a fine line.
As you can see by the swatches they are very pigmented. Be aware though. These eye-liners are meant to be smudged for a sultry look so you have to be careful when applying this at first because it may smudge but once it's dry it will stay in place and last all day.
That's what the tips look like and as you can see it is your average pencil eye-liner kohl and overall I have been really enjoying wearing these colours!
Have you tried Soap and Glory make-up?

Make-up review: Sleek Palette in Sparkle 2

Hi guys!
So here is yet another blog post for you about make-up. Enjoy!

So in December I received this for my Birthday and I have been playing around with it and I can say this is so very cool! All the colours are shimmery so if you ain't a shimmer person look away as this palette is FULL of all types of glitter.

So this palette came out as Sleek's 'Christmas' palette and the names are so cute. Here is the list of colours:

  • (From left to right, top row first) Chocolate Penny: A bronzed Gold  that doesn't actually have glitter but it's just very shimmery. This is a beautiful colour and it is quite pigmented. Sleek's darker eyeshadows I find have a bit more pigment to them but this one is also very good in pigment. They have quite a long staying power but I suggest using a primer as they are shimmery and will fade a bit throughout the day or night.
  • Blue Spruce: Rich light cobalt blue with silver glitter that has slight green undertones to it. Not as great pigment as the previous one but still gives off a lot of colour.
  • Mulled Wine: I think the name is perfect for this eyeshadow since it is the colour of mulled wine: except for the fact it has gold glitter running through it. Very pigmented and is beautiful for a purple hued smokey eye.
  • Truffle: Super pigmented chocolate shimmer. No glitter this time but this colour is just beautiful. There is this this beautiful golden shimmer running through the brown that I think would suit brown eyes so well.
  • Mistletoe: Dark forest green with sparse glitter running through it. I see why they put it in their Christmas palette for this is so festive but I can imagine this would be very wearable in spring as well.
  • Illusion: I didn't really understand the name for this one but the colour is amazing. A dark midnight purple with silver glitter. So very pigmented. It would look amazing with Mulled Wine for a monochromatic look. (A look that has different hues of only one colour)
  • Festive: Another purple even though different from the others. It is more of a plum based purple that has slightly red undertones to it. More purple than Mulled Wine though. Yet This one has silver glitter to it and it is quite pigmented.
  • Gold Ribbon: This colour looks so scary in the palette for it is a gold with green-ish undertones. Weird I know. When I swatched it and put it on I actually realised it was more of a true gold foil colour. This is a shimmer. Very pigmented for a gold even though it isn't as pigmented as other eyeshadows from Sleek.
  • Glitz & Glamour: This is a super pigmented grey pearly colour with silver glitter. It has blue-ish undertones to it and I think it would make an amazing smoky colour.
  • Tinsel" Your classis silver shimmer with light blue undertones to it. Quite pigmented.
  • Twinkle; Midnight blue with silver shimmer that is very close to black and yet again very good quality.
  • Starry Night: Black with silver glitter. Like in the black colour in my other Sleek palette this one is also of a very good pigment.
So those are all the 12 colours. The names are so very festive and it comes with a little brush. The black rubber casing makes it pick up a lot of dirt but the colours are worth it. This is limited edition so hurry if you do want it and that is all for today.

2013 New Years Resolutions!

Hi guys!
I know it may be late to tell you all this but Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope you had a great time those days and that you had a fantastic festive season. Which is why I will be telling you my New Years resolutions and hope that maybe I will give you some ideas you guys can add on to your resolutions.

  • Eat more healthily
This is a big one for me since I tend to eat a lot of fatty, crappy foods which even have made me feel sick and given me viruses. Tip: Swap the chocolate or sweets for dried fruits and nuts and aim to eat foods that are less than five ingredients or that you know all the ingredients in the snack or drink.
  • Use more products
I have a lot of half full- half empty shower gels and creams and shampoos and all that jazz that NEED finishing so my new rule. Finish everything before you buy it. Exception make-up- I love make-up.
  • Go out with friends more
This is the last year before I lock myself out in my room studying for GCSE so I want to take advantage of this year by going out with my friends more often and have less lazy days.
  • Use a base coat when painting nails
This may sound super stupid but there was a time and place in summer where my nails were starting to go yellow. It is also really important to use base coats as it stops the toxins in the polish being absorbed into the skin that can cause cancers. There are some brands that to these types of nail polish.
  • Save up money
I have decided that I want to save up for more money so I can give nicer gifts to people I care about.
  • Study and exercise are the key
No more saying 'I'll do it later' 'cause we all know we will never do it once we say it. Study as much as you can and exercise as it keeps you healthy and fit.
  • Drink more water
We all know water is good for you and your skin. I don't drink water that much so I will try to.

That is all for now. I probably will add more during the year and I might even do  a monthly resolution. Who knows!
What are your resolutions?
